Clinics
In addition to our normal consultations we offer the following clinics and services. Appointments can be made at reception.
Well Woman
The Drs and Sister Jacqui provide well woman checks, cervical smears, pre-conception/pregnancy and menopausal advice. A range of family planning advice is also available.
Dr McGhie and Dr Ritchie also provide family planning advice and emergency contraception during normal surgery hours.
The practice nurses give advice on routine problems and carry out smears in their surgeries. Coil insertions and contraceptive implants are not done at the surgery but are available at local family planning clinics.
For advice on natural family planning and conception awareness please make an appointment to see Dr Anne Williams. Dr Williams does not provide artificial contraception.
Minor Surgery
Some procedures (such as removal of ingrowing toenails, skin lesions, cysts etc) can be carried out at the surgery by arrangement with Dr Ritchie. Please see your usual doctor to discuss this.
Wart Clinic
Treatment Room Nurse Janis offers a wart treatment clinic normally on the afternoon of the last Wednesday every 2 months.
Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Management
We have an active health promotion programme. Our practice nurses carry out annual reviews for patients with chronic diseases e.g. .Heart Disease, Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Stroke.
Counselling Services
For addiction problems we have the services of a counsellor, Anne Nesbit, on alternate Wednesday mornings. Anne works for the South West Community Addiction Team.

Self-Referral Services
Podiatry
You can now refer yourself to chiropody/podiatry; you do not need to be referred by your GP. Telephone: 0141 347 8909 or ask for an information leaflet at reception.
Physiotherapy
You can now refer yourself to physiotherapy, you do not need to be referred by your GP. An information leaflet and self-referral form is available at reception.

Expecting a baby?
If you have just found out you are pregnant, please register using the below link to make plans to meet your midwife. It is never 'too early' in a pregnancy to register for maternity services. You can register below without speaking with your GP first.

Travel Vaccinations
Travel health services are no longer provided by General Practice.
Information on what vaccinations you require for travelling, together with malarial and safe travel advice can now be found at https://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/home.aspx. The website allows you to select your destination and then view the requirements for there before contacting the providers on the Healthboard website.
Four travel vaccines are available on the NHS and will not cost you any money. These are Typhoid, Hepatitis A, DPT and Cholera. Any other vaccinations will require a payment.

Non-NHS Services
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
- Insurance claim forms
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
- Private sick notes
- Vaccination certificates
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
